Protect yourself! Beware of scams
Scammers are targeting Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) members through text messages and phone calls.
Scammers will:
- Say your health coverage is canceled, or threaten to cancel it
- Ask you for
- money, credit card or bank account information
- your income or employer information
- your complete social security number
Know the Facts
Health First Colorado and CHP+ will:
- Ask you to update your information on PEAK or with your local county human services department.
Health First Colorado and CHP+ will never:
- Ask for money, bank account or credit card information
- Ask for your complete social security number
- Say that you are in legal trouble
- Ask you to keep the communication a secret from others
Protect yourself!
Don’t share bank accounts, credit cards, or other personal or financial information with anyone who texts or calls saying they are with Health First Colorado, Medicaid or CHP+.
What to do if you think a scammer contacted you
If you think a scammer contacted you, please report it to the Attorney General Consumer Protection Unit.
